Every gift to the WVU Department of Geology and Geography is important. By building a strong network of alumni, friends and parents who are annual contributors, the Department is able to provide scholarships, services, programs and enhanced facilities for our students. Collectively, hundreds of individual gifts allow the WVU Department of Geology and Geography to carry on the tradition of excellence at West Virginia University.
What Are Our Priorities?
There are many academically gifted and talented undergraduate students in the Department of Geology and Geography. Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship funds would provide the capability to reward and nurture the accomplishments these extraordinary students as they pursue degrees in either Geology or Geography.
Geology and Geography students participate in a field experience opportunity, an essential asset that allows them real world knowledge of what will be expected of them as geologists and geographers. These mandatory experiences often require special equipment, travel, and other associated expenses which can be rather costly. Endowed Field Experience Opportunity funds can help defray the costs associated with this invaluable opportunity.
Why not help the future professionals of our field achieve their dreams? Without research time, Geology and Geography graduate students would not be able to complete their thesis or dissertation. Master and Doctorial Summer Research Grants would assist students to pursue the summer research needed to produce a quality work.
